West One Music is excited to announce that several tracks from Enlightenment (WOM 207) have been selected for use in Submarine, the latest release from a Warp Films productions (in association with Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and Film 4) whose past work includes such critically acclaimed features as Dead Man’s Shoes, This is England and the recent Four Lions.

The film stars Noah Taylor (Shine, The Life Aquatic…), Paddy Considine (The Bourne Ultimatum, Hot Fuzz) and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins (Happy Go Lucky). It is the feature film debut of actor/writer/director Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, Dir. Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend music videos). Submarine is an adaption of Joe Dunthorne’s novel, a coming of age comedy set in Swansea. It tells the story of 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) as he struggles to save his parent’s marriage while dealing with his own burgeoning romance with an eczema-strafed, pyromaniac girlfriend played by Yasmin Paige.

Submarine made its debut early October at Toronto International Film Festival where it was acquired by the Weinstein Company. The film will be released in 2011.

Warp Films have hand-picked the West One Music tracks to sit alongside an original soundtrack composed by Andrew Hewitt with contributions from Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys, Last Shadow Puppets) and James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco).
